Courtyard Atlanta Marietta/I-75 North

My girlfriend and I came for a couple of days to celebrate her birthday, and I’d never recommend this hotel. The sheets, bathroom, couch, and desk were dirty. The showerhead was full of mold, and the curtain was too short, so water kept getting on the floor. The hotel kitchen food was overpriced. I ordered something simple, had to send it back because it wasn’t what I’d asked for, and waited nearly 30 minutes for the correct order, like I was at a busy restaurant. The staff weren’t courteous at all. They brought snacks to our room the day before checkout, but that didn’t make up for the awful stay. One of the dirtiest, most rundown hotels we’ve visited.

The elevator was out of order, and the lobby restaurant had run out of half its menu. They don’t honor what you reserve, either. I’ve visited this area three times in the past two years and expect to return many more times, but there are too many other hotels nearby for me to stay here again.

Our stay was wonderful because of the incredible, top-notch staff at the Courtyard by Marriot Atlanta Marietta. Everyone was kind and respectful, and they went out of their way to make sure we were happy. I left my carryon by the Starbucks counter in the lobby and didn’t realize until more than 12 hours later, when I was already hundreds of miles away at home. The staff helped locate and confirm it, then sent it to me safely in four days. Amazing work from the team. The Marriot location could use some updating, but everything was clean and tidy. Huge credit to the staff.

I arrived close to 11 p.m. and found they’d given away my room, along with several others, even though we had reservations. The young man at the desk wasn’t equipped to handle it. He made no effort to find us another room at a nearby property and simply turned us away. No apology or help, just excuses. What a disappointing night. I did find a room at a Hilton property. After hearing what had happened, they upgraded me. Thank you, Hilton. This Marriott property could learn from your team.
