Hampton Inn Marietta

The room worked well as an office while I was in town for business, and I slept comfortably. It had the home-like things I want: space to stretch out, an office, an iron, a dresser, and hangers. The furniture feels like a blast from the past, straight out of the '70s, but the room itself was comfortable and the food was good. The selection was okay, though it didn't seem like they put much effort into offering a quality spread. This suits me better than some of their oddly named places like "spark," where I don't understand the target audience.

We drove eight hours to visit family, but those beds were so firm that even four blankets couldn't help my back. Of all the Hampton Inns and other Hilton places we've stayed at, this was probably the worst bed. They'd done a partial renovation, though the bathrooms still had the older showers, and it looked like they'd painted the floor tiles to match the wall. I noticed caulk used instead of replacements, so who knows what's underneath. Breakfast wasn't bad, but the coffee was a little watered down. Front desk service was about average, with some women warmer than others.

We were in town for cheer competitions and spent one night here. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly and professional. We had the continental breakfast, and the room with the pool was heated. A few restaurants were close enough to walk to.

We often stay at Hampton Inn, and this was the best customer service we've had by far. Everyone was courteous, but the overnight desk clerk was amazing. I realized on arrival that I'd forgotten to copy important paperwork, and he went out of his way to get me the copies I needed. Then our trip got extended, and he helped extend the reservation too. Parking was the only issue because the lot was being resurfaced, but the staff clearly explained when the work would happen and apologized for the inconvenience. We'll definitely stay again.
