Econo Lodge Marion I-81

The location is great, which makes the shoddy condition a shame. The room gave me the creeps and was barely clean. There were no towels, just two washcloths obviously left by a previous guest. I walked barefoot to the bathroom and came back with a long black hair on my feet. My hair is blonde and my husband is bald. I don’t expect much from a thrift hotel, but I do expect a clean room and towels. The bed was uncomfortable too.

We arrived late at night after a long trip, with a reservation for that same day. Our check-in time differed by a few hours, but the staff member wouldn’t help or suggest any solution and instead asked us to pay extra. There was no customer care at all. Treating tired guests like that in the middle of the night is unacceptable. I won’t stay here again or recommend it.

Roaches everywhere, and the place is unclean. The blankets had cigarette burns and looked like they hadn’t been washed in who knows how long. The sheets were stained and the carpet was disgusting. There weren’t any towels or washcloths. When I asked for some, I was told to wait until the next day. Very rude!

After a long journey, we arrived late at night and felt like we were being turned away at the door. We had a reservation for that day, but the staff weren’t flexible and asked for money instead of trying to help. That’s far from professional. A hotel with this kind of service can’t call itself hospitable.
