Studio 6 Ogden, Ut – 21St Street

We checked out after two nights of a planned 10 day stay. On the second day, ants were all over the kitchen counter, the tub faucet was broken, and the cooktop wouldn't shut off unless unplugged. The freezer and sofa were filthy, so I called the manager to come clean. There was no coffee pot or toaster, and the front door keypad was smashed. The door wouldn't latch, leaving it unsecured.

They put us in a dirty room to start with. Then they took more money than the cost of our stay from my account for the deposit. I went back to the front desk and was told we'd get it refunded, but I still don't know why they took so much. During our four days there, we didn't get fresh towels or housekeeping to take out the trash. Somehow wasps and bees kept getting into the room even though no doors or windows were open. I don't recommend this place and won't return.

The mattress had live and dead bedbugs all over it. I showed pictures at the office, but they still said they weren't bedbugs. When I told the manager I'd been bitten, he denied having any and hung up on me. I had to leave and got no refund. I'm disgusted, and now I have to replace my luggage and treat everything. I'll be suing, that's for sure.

Motel 6 and Studio 6 share a front desk but are in separate buildings. The online pictures show Studio 6, which looks clean, nice, and new. The Motel 6 building, where the desk is, was filthy and disgusting. There were roaches, mattresses stained with urine and blood, dirty floors, red liquid in the freezer, pet hair everywhere, cigarette and mildew smells, and a big gap beneath the front door that let smoke in. The microwave was scorched and rusty, and the towel still had a previous guest's hair on it. I got bitten a few times overnight by what I believe were fleas. I was coughing and sneezing all night and morning, and the respiratory irritation stopped once I left the room. I'm not saying the filthy roaches caused it. I asked for more than the 20% of my $83 room charge they offered, and the man at the desk raised his voice slightly and talked over me, as if to intimidate or discourage me from pushing the issue. I don't usually complain or confront people, but this was disgusting and I should have received a full refund. I also asked them to cover a laundromat so I could wash my clothes in case hitchhiker cockroaches had come with me. Now I have to check every inch of my belongings for other bugs. I was biking across the country and thought a hotel would be a nice change from camping. I would've been better off beside the parking lot dumpster. Stay anywhere else, and avoid this place like the plague.
