Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marysville by IHG

At $217 a night, I don’t know how the riffraff can afford to stay here. They were as shady as the homeless people at the gas station. Still, the room was clean and smelled great, and the bedding and pillows had that good old-fashioned Clorox smell, which made me happy. The bathroom towels were clean, fresh-smelling, and colorful. They were fluffy and soft, and actually dried you off. I wiped water off the floor with a white towel, and it was still white afterward. That impressed me. Housekeeping gets my biggest five-star rating of the stay. The website said $109 a night, so I’m not sure why I was charged double.

The location worked well for us, right by an I-5 on-off ramp, with lots of restaurants just a few minutes away and the Seattle premium outlets nearby. There’s secure underground parking, too. One room closer to the freeway had a little road noise from I-5, but otherwise I never heard anyone else. The rooms were clean and surprisingly roomy. I didn’t expect such great service at the Holiday Inn Express in Marysville. Everyone at the front desk was super friendly and eager to help with whatever we needed. Definitely five-star service.

After having to leave the Quality Inn up the street because of its cleanliness problem, I checked in here after an awful day and was crying while the gentleman helped me. He was so kind and didn’t make me feel any more uncomfortable than I already did. This wonderful Holiday Inn felt incredibly clean. The room was spacious and had all the amenities you might need. The shades close all the way for darkness and privacy, and the lobby has fresh ice water with lemon and fresh-baked cookies. The pool was well cared for and didn’t smell overly chemical. The bathrooms are quite large, with a walk-in shower. I can’t overstate how clean this place felt by comparison. Amazing.

I’ve stayed at Holiday Inn Express Marysville, Washington several times, and it’s now my first choice when I’m nearby. The rooms are spotless, reception is friendly and professional, and the price is reasonable. There’s a large heated pool, a hot tub, and a handy workout area. Breakfast has lots of choices and is delicious, so meat eaters and vegetarians can both find something. The coffee machine in the main area is incredible, and the coffee is the best ever. It’s available 24/7. They also keep a large jug of infused water at reception and have delicious cookies in the evening. The staff are always around when you need them, and they’re friendly and eager to help. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
