Super 8 Marysville/Port Huron Area

We live in town but wanted to make the season and weather feel special, so I brought my girlfriend here as a birthday gift. The rooms were really nice, and, well, it's a hotel, they're all pretty similar. What stood out was the service, which was great, understanding, and helpful. The pool was nice too, especially in winter.

We drove down from the UP for my daughter's graduation nearby. When we realized we'd arrive early, we called and confirmed with the GM Kris that early check-in would be possible. But at 1pm the desk attendant said no rooms had been clean and told us to come back in an hour. Once we finally got into a room, it smelled terrible of cigarettes, and the bathroom fan didn't work. The advertised breakfast was from 6-9, but when we came down around 8am, the choices were bran cereal or Belgium waffles. We picked the waffles, but the mix was out and we couldn't make a full waffle. If you need somewhere to stay around here, you'd be better off packing a tent or booking airbnb. Customer service in the area is subpar for sure.

I spent five weeks here for work, usually putting in 6-7 days a week and 10-13 hour shifts, so I often got back around 6-9 pm. The room started out clean and decent, and the accessible setup worked for me as an amputee missing my left leg. About three weeks in, things went downhill. The shower pressure was barely more than a watering can, and hot water lasted maybe three minutes. Staff didn't seem to know how to charge a card for a weekly stay, and I was moved to a room without accessibility features or grab bars, with no effort to make it possible for me to shower or use the restroom normally. Coworkers also said their cards were charged one amount and then another the same day, only to be told after work that the cards had been declined. The manager seemed lost about what was happening, and the people she trained did too. I'd rather drive 10, 20, or even 30 minutes farther than stay here again. Zero stars would've fit better. I'd recommend looking anywhere else.

Aryssa was so helpful and had a great attitude. I'd make a point of staying here again because of how willing she was to share information and help with arrangements. It's also a clean, good-quality room, and the location works well for kayaking.
