Suburban Studios Mason Near Kings Island

I was very disappointed. The manager was rude and completely unprofessional, yelling instead of speaking politely or listening. The rooms had cockroaches, and cleaning wasn’t good under this management.

I stayed here for the Cincinatti Open and had a great experience with the staff. There was a shuttle to the tennis center and Kings Island, and the pool was clean and heated. Breakfast had several good buffet options. I plan to stay here again.

We didn’t stay, so I can only speak to our first impression. We booked online through trivago and arrived to find the door “accidentally” unlocked. The clerk was rude and hateful because we got in, saying we should never have been able to enter. Apparently they don’t take reservations after 4 p.m. on weekends, and I think the cutoff is 8 p.m. on weekdays, so this isn’t the place for a quick last-minute stay. There’s no elevator, which makes it difficult if you’re traveling with someone who uses a wheelchair. I requested a handicapped-accessible room online, but was told ours was on the second floor. When I said that wasn’t accessible for someone in a wheelchair, the clerk replied, “all rooms are accessible meaning you can walk in them.” She repeated hateful comments several times. I don’t recommend this place.

The room itself was nice enough, but I stayed for several weeks and went almost three weeks without housekeeping cleaning it. The main reason for my one-star rating is that my belongings went missing. First my necklace, just a silver chain, disappeared. It wasn’t worth much financially, but my wedding band was on it and the necklace meant a lot to me. The front desk didn’t help, only saying housekeeping wasn’t allowed to touch anything until checkout. The night before I left, while packing, I found that some medication was missing from a zipped bag with other things. I brought it up at checkout, and the desk staff just looked blankly at me and thanked me for staying. I wouldn’t stay here if you don’t want your belongings gone through or stolen. I hate thieves and useless management.
