Best Western Hunt's Landing Hotel Matamoras/Milfor

We had to make a special trip to the lobby for blankets, but the staff member on duty was friendly and brought them when we asked. The room itself was spotless and comfortable. During one of the coldest weeks of winter, though, it had only sheets and thin bedspreads, and the heat would not go above 75°, which wasn’t enough in that bitter cold. There were several USB outlets, but none worked with our phones. The one standard outlet for an AC wall charger was tucked behind a large, heavy but comfortable chair, so getting to it meant hauling the chair away from the wall. The bathroom was a letdown. The toilet sat so low it seemed made for an 8-year-old, which was uncomfortable and inconvenient. The shower sprayed water all over instead of along its intended path. I can’t say whether mineral buildup or a faulty seal caused it, but management had clearly ignored the problem. Even with these issues, hotel staff were friendly and accommodating throughout.

We loved the big parking lot, good breakfast, and friendly staff. The room was a nice size, though the bathroom felt a little cramped. The interstate was just 2 seconds away, and a few restaurants were close enough to walk to. I wish the hotel restaurant had been open. It was a perfect 10 for us.

The pond view from our room was lovely, and it made for a really scenic stay. The room was tidy and the continental breakfast was great. It’s right off the highway, which is handy when you’re traveling, and it’s pet friendly. My cat loved it. The staff were awesome, especially the wonderful woman handling breakfast on 9/16. She was fabulous. I’d recommend this place.

Sky at the desk did a great job finding us a good room and making sure we had what we needed. He was really helpful and accommodating, and went above and beyond. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was great.
