April was a real gem. She gave us great service and went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. A real boon to the company.

We also had to call 911 the previous night because a woman in the next room was screaming. Then, on the third night of our four-night reservation, the TV stopped working. I reported it to the front desk at 8pm and again at 5am, but both times they said they couldn't do anything. When the manager arrived at 9am, she offered to move us to another room. I was planning to stay an extra night, and the offer was a $5 discount. This was a horrible experience, and I won't stay here again.

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. Breakfast started about 5 minutes late Sunday, then around 20-25 minutes late Monday, when we had somewhere to be that morning. I asked for a handicap room because getting in and out of a tub is difficult for me. They said this was one, but it had a tub with a high showerhead and no handheld showerhead, so I still struggled to get in and out.

The staff did everything they could to help, and the manager and employees were all kind. But the generator wasn't working when we needed it. Before booking, we asked because a hurricane was coming, and were told it would provide lights and power, except for air conditioning. We have a special needs son who must have power. The outage came right before the storm, and staff said the generator had no oil or engine coolant, and its fuel was shut off. There was no ventilation, refrigeration, or room lighting. Some residents found oil, but the battery was dead, and even after it started, the generator didn't function. A Category 1 storm came through, and people on the first floor were being given sandbags. The owner seems to do the bare minimum. No hotel should have a generator that hasn't been run in three years. Room windows don't open, so people camped in the stairwells and foyer. If someone had emergency medical equipment that needed power, this stay could have ended badly. If I were Holliday Inn, I'd be ashamed and take the name off the wall.
