Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago Southland-Matteson

Nadia checked us in, and later the team helped us get my son’s headphones back after we left them behind. We called from the airport, and they found them and mailed them to us. That honesty meant a lot to us. We were in town for Thanksgiving in Chicago, and the stay was comfortable, with clean, well-kept rooms and beds. Breakfast was useful, and the tea and coffee station was open all day and night. Customer service was outstanding. I pray God blesses the staff extra this holiday season.

I paid for a King studio suite with a sofabed for seven nights, but was given a regular King room. The front desk did nothing to fix it and sent me to the general manager. Assistant general manager Lashonda told me I had booked the regular room, even though the front desk staff and Super agreed my reservation was for the suite with a sofabed. Lashonda offered no real help and tried to avoid responsibility for giving me the wrong room. The customer service from both staff and management was shameful. Customers should get the room they paid for, not one that costs 30% less and has fewer services.

I was here from Maryland from 23Dec-3Jan 2026, and things were good overall. There was an after-hours noise problem. Hotel staff called in a complaint, but the noise carried on well past 12AM. They did what they could, and I don’t blame the hotel. Some people just ignore the rules. I didn’t want staff or me getting into a conflict over it. Be courteous to everyone. Happy New Year! I raised these problems with corporate customer care, and they promised the property’s GM would call to discuss them. I still haven’t heard anything, which matches what other reviewers say. The room door had a gap of more than 1" at the bottom, so hallway noise came right in, and the short curtains left another big gap where a nightlight wasn’t needed. The place needs a real remodel, not just new fixtures. Staff were unbelievably rude and customer service was nowhere to be found. Look at the picture and tell me how this fits the cleanliness pledge. I would not stay here.
