Courtyard Greenville Mauldin

They made it easy for my elderly mother to get around by putting us right next to the elevators. We didn't feel like we were imposing by asking, and both the night and morning porters were incredibly kind. The staff overall was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and spacious, and the location was super convenient. My only small complaint is that the mattress was a bit firm and the pillows felt flimsy. 9/10, I'd stay again.

We paid too much for this. The sink in Room 209 wouldn't drain, and when I called downstairs, they said maintenance had already left for the day. They offered to move us, but we were ready for bed and weren't going to pack all our things back into our luggage. This shouldn't have happened, and housekeeping should have reported the problem to the front desk when they cleaned the room.

I checked out and canceled my five night stay after finding hair in both beds and then on the supposedly clean comforter. I went downstairs after my five hour drive to ask for fresh sheets or another room. I wasn't initially offered an apology, and the clerk said the hotel was sold out and I couldn't switch rooms. She brought up clean sheets but told me I'd have to remake the bed myself. Handling dirty sheets was bad enough, and I have a mobility disability that keeps me from making my own bed at home. She said she was alone and couldn't offer any other help, apart from having her manager call me in the morning. This was at 6:00pm, which seemed unbelievable both as customer service and for her safety. Back in the room, I struggled to remove the blankets and old sheets, then found hair on the replacement comforter. I stay at Marriott hotels everywhere I travel and have never had an experience like this. I checked into the Haywood Mall Marriott afterward and had no room cleanliness issues.

The rooms were clean, the lobby had plenty of seats, and the staff I met were very friendly. It's a nice, clean Marriott, though you can't really walk anywhere except possibly Waffle House. That leaves you a captive audience for coffee, I guess. The small, or "tall," cup was $5.50, which felt excessive. Mark up the Starbucks, sure, but don't overcharge customers when there's no local coffee shop within walking distance.
