The breakfast at La Quinta was way better than I expected. I usually skip continental breakfast, but this had menudo, tamales, eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, fruit, pastries, and all the extras. Everything tasted good, and the staff were kind and helpful. The hotel and our room were very clean. I also liked the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion dispensers. The pool area was tidy with plenty of seating, and the lobby had lots of places to sit plus a nice bar. It smelled amazing inside, and the air fresheners were great. They had the Cowboys game on the TVs that morning, too. Really glad we stayed here :)

We were welcomed with complimentary happy-hour drinks when we checked in, which was a lovely touch. The rooms were roomy, clean, and comfortable, and the service stayed excellent from arrival through breakfast. We’ll make this our place to stay on future McAllen trips. Highly recommend!

We’re locals and had a really nice staycation at this La Quinta for two nights. It was easy to find things to do and places to eat, with shopping and restaurants nearby. The room was impeccably clean, and everyone was friendly, greeting me right away with a smile and a “Good morning.”

The accidental reservation at La Quinta by the convention center turned out to be a blessing. I usually stay at the La Quinta on 10th Street at Christmas, so I was unsure at first, but this hotel was immaculate, the service was prompt and extremely cordial, and breakfast was phenomenal. There was a lot more than pastries and waffles: scrambled eggs, potatoes, tortillas, biscuits, sausage, country gravy, bagels, oatmeal, boiled eggs, toast, waffles, several juices, yogurt, and plenty more. Arturo, the lobby bar manager, was one of the highlights of our 10-day stay. Ask the front desk for happy-hour coupons for free drinks. Happy hour runs Monday through Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Arturo made some of the best drinks we’ve had in ages, including special virgin drinks for my 18-year-old son and a peppermint smoothie for my wife with peppermint schnapps and actual peppermint candy. I feel like he’s family now. Even if you’re not staying here, stop in and say hi to Arturo. Tell him omen from California sent you!!

We’d gladly recommend this hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very nice, the breakfast was fantastic, and the pool and lounge area were beautiful.
