There were stains on the carpet, and something was all over the bedspread. The curtains were broken and wouldn't close properly, the walls had holes, and the place smelled nasty. I only had one washcloth and asked for another. The response made it seem like requesting extra linens was a sin. They said people steal them, as if that were my fault, and gave me an attitude for asking. I would have gone somewhere else. Next time I will.

The beds were comfortable and clean, which is the only reason I'm giving two stars. We badly needed three rooms for our family of eleven, and if you just need a cheap place to sleep, it can work. Otherwise, I'd avoid it. At check-in, they had to cancel and redo all the reservations because my dad was paying while I'd booked them. I've never run into that at a hotel when both people were there with ID and a credit card. Their paperwork isn't digital, so we had to sign a stack of forms for each room. Check-in took 20 to 30 minutes, the longest I've ever experienced. The bathtub kept leaking, and there was quite a bit of mold on the bathroom door seals.

I just needed a cheap place to crash with the dogs for a couple of hours while passing through, after eating at Culvers across the street. It met my expectations for an interstate motel at under $80. If it had cost more, I'd give it one star for the issues. The room was adequate for a six-hour nap and mostly clean. The microwave was still flashing 3 seconds, so I'm unsure how thorough the cleaning was, but the sheets and bed looked fresh and a close inspection showed no bugs. The AC worked great, and the shower got hot after running for three to five minutes. For management, this was room 114: the tub doesn't drain, so even a quick shower left water up to my ankles. The hairdryer plug was busted open and didn't work. I was brave or stupid enough to try plugging it in. The toilet paper holder fell off the wall.

I've never seen a worse hotel room. Once I finally got the lights on, roaches were everywhere, and the room was disgustingly dirty. I asked to switch rooms, but they said none were available. I left and went to another hotel without getting a refund.
