Days Inn by Wyndham McDonough

The hotel itself isn't bad, and I've stayed here many times, sometimes with family. But I agree with the reviews about safety and people being around outside late at night. There's constant foot traffic through the parking lot, and people hang out noisily along the side of the building. It's uncomfortable trying to book a room when someone outside is yelling for no apparent reason.

The room was simple, but clean and welcoming, and breakfast was good. The front desk staff were friendly and professional, and they invited us back when we checked out. We came here with two dogs after another hotel turned us away, even though my daughter's dog was a service dog. They had accepted that dog but wouldn't allow my 6lb. emotional support dog. This hotel welcomed all four of us without questions.

I was unsure after reading all the bad reviews, so I suggested we ask to see a room before booking. It was $52 and looked very nice. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the room seemed freshly cleaned. I didn't see any roaches or bed bugs and had no bites. The staff were great, and I didn't see people hanging around smoking weed or doing whatever. Of course, it's not the Hilton or Ritz Carlton, but if you don't expect every little thing to be perfect, this is worth considering. I don't understand where all those bad reviews came from.

The room smelled musty, and the shower was so filthy I sprayed it with bleach and wiped it down. The towel turned brown. There was a roach the last night, and I found hair in the bed when I pulled back the spread. The fridge, phone, and TV didn't work. I only stayed because my feet was non refundable. If your expectations are anything above zero, don't stay here.
