Hampton Inn Medford

We had a quiet, comfortable room, and the hotel didn’t feel dated. Breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We did notice a few homeless people nearby while walking, but there weren’t many and they didn’t bother us. All in all, a really good place to stay.

The location was much better than I expected, and the brand’s quality was all there, with a little extra. I’d called several times because I expected to arrive around 3 or 4 am and was worried they might give my room away. Tim told me he’d keep an eye out for me. I never expected him to meet me at the doors, open up right away, and make check-in so smooth. He offered a breakfast bag in case I couldn’t make it down. I was worried I’d sleep through breakfast, so I couldn’t fall asleep and went down instead. The woman in the kitchen was lovely and greeted everyone. I took my breakfast upstairs, but really appreciated their hospitality. Honestly, this was the best experience I’ve had since Hampton Inn in Trabazon, Turkey. I’m not sure why this place has a low star rating.

The front desk staff member was courteous, but this was one of the worst hotel experiences my husband and I have had. The area felt terrible because of the number of drug addicts walking around. When we got to our car the next morning, the parking lot was flooded, 6-8 inches deep, with some areas a foot deep. There was also an extra hold on my credit card that was supposed to take days to drop off, even though the full charge had already gone through. It lingered over the holiday. The front desk person isn’t there after midnight, which didn’t affect us, but could be another problem if you arrive late because of weather or traffic. Never again.

The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed, plenty of outlets, and decent lighting. The closet was the smallest we’ve ever seen, and there weren’t USB ports on both bedside tables. We couldn’t connect our streaming device to the TV. The carpet was the first thing we noticed, and we couldn’t tell whether it was dirty or stained. It made the room feel off-putting. The pool gets busy, though later in the evening it was possible to swim laps. There’s no hot tub. Breakfast was typical Hampton Inn, but decent.
