Woodlands Inn & Suites

We had a lounge where our group could get together, and the staff made sure we had what we needed. They were really friendly and accommodating throughout my three-night stay. The family-run place was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was pretty limited, but with the room price being affordable, that wasn't a big concern for me.

The price was good, but I won't be staying there again. The bed sagged toward the middle and was very uncomfortable, and I could hear the people next door talking through the thin walls. When we arrived, it smelled strongly of cleaning products. The room key was a metal key with “#32” written on its tag in black marker, and the lock felt flimsy, with no deadbolt.

The bathroom could use some work, though the room itself was clean and very comfortable. What really stood out was the staff. When we found the coffee pot wasn't working, the young man at the front desk immediately gave us a brand-new coffee maker in the box. You don't often get customer service that goes that far. Highly recommend.

The WiFi was great, and the sofa was soft and comfortable. The bed was okay, though the pillows were flat and could be better. Breakfast was basic cereal, toast, coffee, waffles, and juice, and it didn't look appetizing. There’s a Taco Bell/ KFC combo about 150 feet away, within walking distance. I stayed in room 34 on 3/18/2025. The place feels stuck in the '80s, from the decor to the metal house keys on plastic room-number tags. It’s all on one floor, with a narrow, straight hallway that reminded me of a dorm or halfway house. There were only a couple of outlets we could find, and they were so loose that our phone chargers wouldn’t stay plugged in, so our phones didn’t charge overnight. Most outlets were already in use. The room phone didn’t work either. The wall AC had a broken control pad and wouldn’t turn on at first. I spent 15 minutes unplugging and reconnecting it while pressing the button. Once it started, it wouldn’t shut off when the room got too cold. The heat controls were on a different wall. The fridge was unplugged, so we had to plug it in and wait before putting our cold food inside. The shower sent water out of both the top and bottom at once. The sink’s hot water looked white and cloudy, which worried me. The plumbing needs fixing. (See the video.)
