Hotel Indigo Memphis Downtown

The location is great, with restaurants and live music close by. The room was comfortable and nice, but cleanliness was disappointing: the floors were sticky and one of the stained towels wasn’t clean. At 6:00 in the morning they were out of coffee, even kuereg pods. I’ve stayed in IHG hotels around the country and never had this happen. For the amount I paid, I couldn’t get a clean towel or even a cup of coffee. Bummer.

I’m still highly frustrated by this experience, the worst I’ve had in all my travels. I don’t know who the GM is and can’t seem to find any information. I booked in April for my annual December weekend at the St. Jude marathon, just a few blocks from the start. When I arrived at 5:30pm December 5th, my check-in day, the door was locked and a security guard had to badge me in. Two people at the front desk then told me the reservation had been canceled. They said I should have received a message through my booking and that all reservations had been taken by the government, causing my cancellation two weeks earlier. I could tell they were following instructions, but none of that was true. My travel agent told me it had only been canceled the morning of December 5. They recommended three hotels 25 minutes away, on one of Memphis’s busiest weekends.

The room itself was lovely, but I definitely wouldn’t stay again. We had to wait until five because it wasn’t ready at 3 o’clock, and the staff were rude. They sat eating food that had been put out for customers. They also took a $75 deposit, and 20 days later I’m still chasing them to get it back. This was a one-night stop while traveling around America.

I’d been an IHG member forever and had stayed at Hotel Indigo in several cities, but I’m done with this place. I found a really good deal a couple of months ago for Valentine’s Day weekend, then they canceled my reservation a couple of weeks before the trip. Dirty and greedy. Shame on you.
