CC is what makes the James Lee House so special. She was an incredible host, and the gourmet breakfast was top-notch. We loved our stay in every way and can’t wait to return to The Lee house on our next trip to Memphis. Jay W & Lisa B

We picked this place for our second anniversary, and it made the occasion feel special. The room was lovely, everything was clean, and the whole place had a comfortable, homey atmosphere. C.C made a delicious breakfast herself. We’d recommend it to anyone after a relaxed bed and breakfast downtown in Memphis.

CC made things easy from the check-in instructions through breakfast. We spent a weekend here for two nights and found the historic house both charming and well cared for. Our room had plenty of space while still feeling cozy.

The house and wedding were beautiful, but the way the event was handled has made me reluctant to recommend this place. I attended a wedding this past weekend, and bed and breakfast guests were staying in the house while the celebration was going on, moving through the areas where the wedding was set up. The bride had also brought her wedding items over the night before and left them there with guests coming and going. At 8:26, we were told to start shutting things down within 15 minutes because guests had complained about the noise. I understand why someone paying to sleep there would object to a DJ and a loud wedding. Still, the owner apparently booked overnight guests on the same night as the event. Unless those guests had been warned and agreed to the noise, I don’t think the bride should have been rushed because of a booking decision the owner made. The contract said everything could go until 10, and the bride had hired vendors through that time. Instead, she was asked to end the celebration an hour and a half early. It wasn’t fair, and that experience ruined my willingness to recommend an otherwise beautiful home.

CC is the heart of the James Lee House. She cooked wonderful breakfasts, helped arrange transportation, pointed us toward great restaurants, and even served a full Southern Sunday lunch. The care and service were incredible. The house itself is beautiful, with a lovely mix of Southern charm and luxurious detail. Memphis doesn’t get better than this experience.
