Regency Inn & Suites

I found a much nicer hotel for the same price 25 minutes away. This was the dirtiest room I’ve stayed in, and the floors were filthy. The supposedly non-smoking room clearly had been used for smoking, and the shower looked so gross I wouldn’t get in. The toilet wouldn’t flush, the shower faucet dripped, and the WiFi didn’t work at all. The broken heat kept cycling and ran all night. I know it’s fairly cheap, but this was the worst motel I’ve stayed in.

They didn’t offer a discount or any other compensation, even though we only found out after arriving that there was no hot water. After a long day of travel, we were tired and needed a shower. The office first told us to let the water run until it warmed up. When I explained that we’d already tried, the man said they knew about the problem and had a plumber coming in a few days. If they’d told us that in advance, we would have stayed somewhere else. A very poor excuse for a hotel.

The rooms have plenty of space, and the walls aren’t especially thin. Housekeepers are amazing, and there are friendly regular guests, including people who stay for extended periods. It’s budget-friendly, with laundry on-site and vending machines with lots of choices. There’s also a gas station, convenience store, and small restaurant/bar right next door.

My Chihuahua, Chewie, was welcome and treated well, and other guests spoiled him with treats. The manager is wonderful, the price was reasonable, and security seemed good, with staff constantly keeping an eye on activity around the hotel. Housekeeping was excellent. They stop by before 11 am to ask if you’re staying or need anything, so be clear if you want the bed changed or the room cleaned. If you say you’re fine, they leave you alone. The pet fee was a bit high at $10.00 per day, since other places are free or charge no more than $30.00 per stay.
