Sonesta Simply Suites Memphis

I wouldn't book here again. The place is nasty, and the staff are rude, sometimes giving you dirty looks. When we asked for tissue, the front desk guy told us not to bother staying another night. There was a roach crawling on my face while I slept one night. Renovations bring constant banging and loud noise, and even at 1am it goes on all night.

I accidentally booked the wrong place, and this was the worst hotel I've stayed in. The room had no blankets to give us, dead bugs and roaches, stained sheets, and a shower that wouldn't drain. Kids ran down the hall, and the whole building was dirty. They charged my bank twice, then argued up and down that they hadn't, even after I showed them the statement. I don't have photos, but the place is horrible. They don't care about this hotel at all.

There were roaches everywhere, appliances were broken, dogs barked loudly, and the customer service was horrible. The mattress is worn out and needs replacing, and the TV only works on and off whenever it feels like it. They give one set of towels per room, so you and your partner have to share that one set. I'd rather sleep in the car than be surrounded by roaches.

TRASH, please don't book. I had the wrong location, thinking it was the Popular Street one. I only realized when I arrived and saw it looked nothing like the Google pictures. Still, I thought, how bad could a Sonesta be? The front desk looked okay. I asked to see the room before handing over my card, but the guy wouldn't let me until I paid the deposit. I should've known better, since a typical Sonesta or any chain would've let me see the room. The place was trash and tragic, and the front desk was rude. He wouldn't give me a cancellation form. When I asked for a refund, he said it would take 7 business days. I went back to take pictures as proof after telling him the room was bad and nothing like Google. I photographed everything, and he got offended. He actually came out to my car and took pictures of my vehicle, but I didn't care. I'd rather sleep in my car than stay there ever. Any customer should leave and ask for a refund, which is what I did. I also photographed my receipt since he wouldn't give me a copy. This was Thanksgiving week, and as of Dec 3rd, 2024, I'm watching my account for pending charges. I'll contact my bank if they try to process them.
