The grounds were lovely, with lots of flowers, and we enjoyed Mendocino and the location. Our room had an ocean view, though the water was a bit of a distance away. We spent three nights here in May 2026 and would probably return, but the older B&B had more dust than we wanted to put up with. The bedroom rugs were worn, and the headboard had stained imprints from many guests. The inn itself was nice, but the staff and service left us a little underwhelmed. Our in-room breakfasts were delivered to the door, which was convenient, though the food was generally pretty marginal. If we're back in Mendocino, we'd stay here again, but might first see if we can get a room at the MacCallum House a couple of blocks away.

I had a spacious room with nice products and a mini fridge, plus a patio with an amazing ocean view. Wine and cheese hour was lovely, and breakfast arrived each morning around 8:30 with some very tasty options. I spent two wonderful nights at the jd house this month. Mendocino is such a cute, charming town, with great restaurants, shops, and views.

We chose this inn for my birthday weekend, and I'm so glad we did. The hosts communicated wonderfully before we arrived, and each day there was a wine hour with ocean views from the patio. Our room had a cozy fireplace, and a lovely little breakfast with fresh juice and coffee was delivered to us. I'd recommend it to everyone!

We had a nice room and enjoyed the daily wine and cheese gathering at 4. Breakfast is delivered to your room, though you can also eat in the dining room. The chef prepares it fresh each morning, so let them know in advance about any dietary restrictions. Everything in town is an easy walk away. Just avoid parking under the trees, your car will thank you in the morning.

We loved staying at the JD house. The afternoon wine and cheese reception was great, and breakfast came to our room every morning as part of the stay. When my friend woke up with a migraine one morning, the staff went above and beyond by bringing her an ice pack.
