Riverview Mansion

The in-room jacuzzi was a real treat, and Lori’s breakfast was the best I’ve had in ages. She served it with so much warmth and hospitality. The hosts were friendly, kind, and full of knowledge, and made us feel like family. Staying in the historic house was like stepping onto a movie set.

Breakfast was delicious, and the owners made us feel right at home, like family. The place is beautiful, with gorgeous rooms and relaxing tubs. I especially loved the sit-down tub and shower with jets and lights, and the jacuzzi felt wonderful too. It’s close to the attractions and restaurants. We’ll be back, and I definitely recommend it.

I wish we could’ve stayed another day just for breakfast. The owner asks what you like and takes care with the food, and her sweet tea is killer. It was a huge, filling meal, more than I could finish. The Superman museum admission is included in the price too, which was a nice extra. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with vintage wallpaper and bedding that give the place an old-time feel. There’s a real sense of history throughout the mansion. I loved the wooden furniture, which feels rich and elegant, and the place is beautiful from the outside as well. The claw-foot tubs are a nice change from standard motel tubs, and the modern in-room jacuzzis were great for relaxing after walking, sightseeing, and shopping. It was hot and humid outside, but we were comfortable indoors, and extra fans were available. The mansion was remarkably well maintained. The owner was welcoming and flexible about check-in and checkout times, so we could shower before heading out and avoid sitting in sweaty clothes for the next part of our trip. She felt like a long-lost family member, almost a grandmother to us and the kids. We really wanted to stay longer, and we’ll stay here whenever we’re back in Metropolis. It took me a while to write this because we’ve been so busy since we got back, but the stay hasn’t left my mind. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The whole experience was amazing, five stars, fifty, five hundred!

On a cross-country trip, I stayed here with my grown daughter and three little kids. Our room was lovely and really comfortable, and William and Lori were perfect hosts. They made us feel like family. I’d highly recommend the place and will stay again.
