The service made the stay feel reassuring. The front desk was organized and professional, and staff stayed on top of things, constantly cleaning the pool deck and mopping the lobby. We visited the last week in January, when a big construction project was underway next to the pool. It was a nuisance, though construction was happening all over MB and it never continued late at night. This is a charming vintage Art Deco hotel in mid Miami Beach, with a popular lobby restaurant and a great wild salmon selection. The price is reasonable, the setting feels safe and cozy, and the beach is about a block away. Wallpaper, art, and furniture give the place a sincere vintage, hipster feel. There's a cozy lounge and an outdoor veranda at the front, plus free coffee each morning. The key cards were strong and worked well. Our King room was extremely small, though it was pleasant and took some careful maneuvering. The bathroom was tiny, with a very small sink and a comfortable shower. Thoughtful touches, like the unusual gold-tone curvy faucet, helped make the limitations easier to accept. The walls are thin, so there's no real soundproofing. You can hear the hum of the central air, refrigerator, and bathroom vent, though all of it was subdued. The other guests were excellent and mostly quiet by ten pm. Starbucks down the block was a nice perk.

The staff are friendly, and the rooms have been renovated and are comfortable. There’s no parking at the hotel, though it partners with the nearby AC hotel. The soundproofing is mediocre, so you can hear everything people say and do in other rooms. Also, the room isn't set up well for working, with just a very small table and a stool.

The staff were responsive and did what they could, and I appreciate their effort. Still, the glossy boutique-style photos online don't match the poor quality of the stay. My first room had mold in the closet at check-in. I was moved to another room, but its shower pan flooded and needed attention every day. For three days I had to keep stopping and starting my showers to avoid an overflow. I wouldn't recommend the place. And yes, the sink really is about the size of an 8x10 sheet of paper, with a faucet lever on a tight hinge.

The location is handy, just one block from the beach, and the staff were friendly. The restaurant served delicious food too. But the hotel feels terribly old, with a moldy smell in the lobby and rooms. The elevator was grimy and had a sticky floor, the Wi-Fi was out for a day, the walls were thin, and the bed was uncomfortable. I nearly changed hotels because the stay was such a poor experience.

We couldn't relax or get work done with the pool right outside our first-floor window and loud music blaring. The air-conditioning units were noisy too. Inside, the walls were extremely thin, the bathrooms unbelievably cramped, and the tiny sinks sent water splashing everywhere. The hotel felt old and had a grungy look that seemed aimed at Gen Z, but it missed the mark for us. The stay fell well short of expectations, and we won't return. I'd suggest looking elsewhere. I'm surprised Marriott would put its name on a property in this condition.
