The hotel manager apologized profusely about the hot water, took me to the front desk, and gave me a one-night credit. She knew I stay with Choice properties often and thanked me for my patronage. That professionalism made the problems I’d had feel resolved, and it’s why I felt compelled to write a review. I checked in Sunday and left Friday morning on a work trip. I travel monthly and usually use Comfort properties, choosing this one because of its rating. For the first few nights, after 12-hour workdays, I’d return to find my key no longer worked and have to go downstairs to get it re-keyed. By the third night I was fed up, and the overnight worker arranged things so it wouldn’t happen daily. I also had no hot water. I mentioned it to a woman I met by the elevator who said she was the property’s HR manager. By breakfast, the hotel manager had found me as I entered the dining room.

There’s plenty to like for the price: a good location, a great shuttle, pretty good customer service, and a nice room, especially one with a sofa. Breakfast was okay, though the dining area needs more space. It seems popular with cruise passengers, and I’d stay again. One small note, it’s easy to mix this place up with Comfort Inn & Suites nearby.

Victoria and Sandra made us feel welcome and were excellent with us. Although the airport is right across the street, we barely heard the planes, and had to really focus to notice them. The hotel hosts lots of cruise travelers and offers a shuttle to the port. There’s also continental breakfast: fresh Belgian waffles, sausage and eggs, toast, muffins, doughnuts, juice, coffee, and cereal. Comfort Suites of Miami was a great place to stay.

This stay made what should have been a joyful 40th birthday trip stressful. My cousin and I had planned carefully for our group and arrived two days early, after seeing so many online recommendations. We had three rooms, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Several other guests told me they were having similar problems. The staff seemed as if none of it mattered. All three rooms smelled strongly, so we bought air fresheners. My parents had cockroaches in their room. I reported it, but there was no room change, apology, or urgency. My bathroom hadn’t been cleaned at all and was genuinely filthy. No one came when I reported it to the front desk, so I put down plastic bags just to shower. The washing machines didn’t work. Since we were traveling with a toddler, I had to walk to a nearby hotel to wash clothes. Breakfast was identical every day, and staff started putting things away before the posted end time. On our last morning they began clearing the area several minutes early, while guests were still trying to get food.
