Homewood Suites by Hilton Miami-Airport/Blue Lagoon

The staff were friendly and attentive, and getting to and from the airport was easy from this location. We were happy with the stay overall. The one problem was the sofa bed, which wasn't clean at all. I know it may not get used much, but it still needs an occasional check and cleaning.

We only needed a room for one night before our morning cruise. The suite had a separate living area, so there was plenty of space and it could work well for a longer visit. The place felt dated and in need of an update, though it wasn't dirty or weird. I wouldn't pick it first, but it served its purpose. The airport shuttle was a real problem. We waited 40 minutes, called the hotel, waited another 30, then gave up and ordered an Uber, which arrived in 10 minutes. The next morning, while we waited for our Uber, the shuttle driver sat in the hotel lot for the whole 30 minutes without moving. That may explain why we never got picked up at the airport. Offering a shuttle and then not actually providing it is poor service.

Our eight-person suite felt like a little apartment, with two bedrooms and enough room that even 10 people could fit. We could see the water from the sixth floor, along with people jet skiing and canoeing. The hotel looks modern, stylish, and a bit luxurious, and the amenities were decent. Breakfast was alright, and the pool was open. The staff were great and treated us well. We called to arrange the airport shuttle and just had to tell them how many people were in our group. There are restaurants within walking distance, plus a nearby Publix if you want to buy groceries and cook in the room. My family and I would stay here again.

We arrived early, checked in without trouble, and left our bags somewhere secure while we went out to explore. The lagoon view as you enter the hotel is lovely. What really stood out was the service. We called a week before the visit to confirm transportation, and the helpfulness continued right through checkout. Reception, the front desk, maintenance, and the shuttle driver all gave us a level of care we haven't come across in all our travels. Their hiring, training, and coaching deserve recognition. That's why we're rating the stay four stars, especially for the staff and location.
