Hyatt Regency Miami

There are different restaurants and shopping places nearby, and the hotel is within walking distance of the train. The staff were nice and helpful. I had trouble with the printer while using the business center, and Jason at the front desk went above and beyond by printing everything for me instead of sending me to a nearby Kinkos or somewhere similar. I’d recommend this hotel if you want to avoid staying near or in South Beach.

The nice river views and fairly spacious rooms were a plus during my week of meetings. They also provide ear plugs and a white noise machine. The rooms are quite dated, though, and highway-facing rooms get a lot of noise because the windows are single layer. The bathroom drain didn’t work well, and I couldn’t unplug it to see what was blocking it. The gym was pitifully small for a hotel this size, with room for at most three guests in the weights area.

The location is very convenient for getting around, and breakfast is pretty good, with an omelet station. But the hotel is really noisy, and they provide ear plugs in the room for that. The room is very dated and service wasn’t as good as at other Regency hotels I’ve been to. Two of the six elevators weren’t working, and the one I used sometimes acted weird, seeming to drop some floors more easily. I had to press a few times to get it to work, and sometimes it didn’t take any floors while moving. As a Hyatt globalist who booked with points, I should have had free parking, but I was charged. The fee was eventually waived after I emailed them, but I never got a reply. I’d recommend it for people who need to be in the area and don’t care about the hardware. This hotel really needs a major update.

The room and interior felt a little dated, but everything was well maintained and convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast had a good variety. We had a really good stay. The hotel’s location was a plus, with easy access to downtown and the waterfront.
