Sonesta Simply Suites Miami Airport

The room was surprisingly clean, and it was nice and quiet. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance, and you get good value for the money. The receptionist at the front desk was pleasant, professional, and accommodating. There's plenty of free parking too. I'll definitely be back.

Finding a place that was reasonably priced, clean, near the cruise port, and offered an airport shuttle took me a month. This one checked the boxes, with great service, clean rooms, and only a few minutes from the airport. I liked it enough to book it right away for the night we return from the cruise. 10/10, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a nice room at a fair price while traveling.

The suites were clean, roomy, and had a handy mini-kitchenette. Free laundry was a nice bonus, and the beds could be a little bigger. Check-in and checkout were quick, with welcoming staff who got everything sorted in minutes. The airport shuttle to and from Miami International Airport was on time both ways, and the driver was friendly. There are a few places to eat within a short drive, including Chipotle, Starbucks, and local spots, plus a park nearby for a walk or jog after a flight. One thing that bothered me was the motion sensor on the AC. It shut off a couple of times while I was asleep, so I woke up warm and stuffy and had to get up and move around to turn it back on. Pretty annoying if you're a light sleeper or like a cold room overnight. The beds could also be a bit bigger. Still, it's a solid value for an airport layover or business trip, and I'd book again. I just wish there were a manual override for the AC.

The laundry and gym were really nice, and so was my room, but the service was not what I expected for what we paid. Staff told us this 2-star hotel did not offer towel or bedding service, even though those guest services were listed online. They said maid service was for weekly or monthly guests, not daily ones. They also said they wouldn't bring anything to the room even after a procedure, so you need someone with you who can go down to the desk to get what you need. A maid attendant wouldn't take my trash or let me leave it outside the room. She wanted me to carry it to the trash myself, even though she was already on my floor cleaning rooms. We were also told to think of the hotel as an apartment. If you're coming to Florida for a procedure, I wouldn't recommend staying here.
