Hampton Inn Middletown

The rooms were clean, but the worn furniture and curtains that let in outside light made the room feel dated. The bathroom exhaust fan didn't work, and the water never got hot enough for a proper shower. For a Hampton Inn, I found that disappointing.

The front desk team made a difficult week much easier for my mother and me. Taylor, Stephanie, and two other women whose names I didn't get treated us with real kindness and patience when we needed it. My mother is elderly, disabled, and blind, and they did everything they could to help us. We stayed nearly a week, and I'm very grateful we chose the Hampton Inn. Much love to the Hampton ladies 💛

The employees were all so courteous, and having a Walmart right next door is handy if you forgot to pack something. There's plenty of shopping nearby for a weekend trip, too. The building itself is an older Hampton and could use some freshening up.

We were moved to another room after reporting the problem, and Theresa gave us a sincere apology. I've stayed at this Hampton Inn often over the years, and this is the first time cleanliness has been an issue. Finding that level of filth with my wife and child there was unnerving. We arrived late and first noticed the weather stripping hanging loose from the bottom of the door, about three inches dragging. I called the front desk, though that seemed minor. Then there was a stale, foul smell. We thought it might be our baby and changed the diaper, but my wife also found a dime on the floor and stains on a pillow, so we were already unsure about the cleaning. The next day, after two more diaper changes, she moved furniture and found old animal poop under the fabric chair. It looked like it had been there at least a week.
