We needed a room for my mother's recovery after surgery, and didn't get in until later in the evening. The price we were quoted for a double queen room was $66.60 including tax, but when we arrived it had gone up by $6, to $72.60. The tile entry was dirty. There was just one tiny bar of soap, broken into pieces, no tissues, and only a quarter roll of toilet paper. Nobody answered when we called the office for more supplies, so we had to go out and buy soap and toilet paper. The towels were awful too. When we showed them to the staff the next morning, they agreed there were stains all over but said they were still clean. One had a dried red substance that could only have been blood. There wasn't even an apology. They said to deal with it or go somewhere else next time. I wouldn't recommend this motel or ever stay here again. This place is a joke!

The booking page said the king standard suite had a spa tub, but there was no spa tub in the room. They told me it was an upgrade I hadn't selected, even though no upgrade option had been available when I booked. The room smelled horrible, the stove was falling apart even though we weren't going to use it, and the toilet was cracked with water on the floor. The adjoining room door had bad hinges and wouldn't stay closed when open. When I brought up the door, they said it was secure and that they'd look at it. They also said whether I felt safe in the room was my own choice. There was no compassion or help.

I'm starting my third week here for work. The staff are great, the room is clean, and I haven't had any problems. It's an older motel, so I don't understand the complaints. After a few weeks, I think I'd know if there were bed bugs or roaches, and I haven't seen any. If I come to Midland for a non-work trip, this will be my choice. You can walk to lots of restaurants and stores.

The Midland motor inn is a great cheap place. The manager is extremely friendly and helpful, and so is the bartender at the bar onsite. I've stayed here often, and the housekeeping staff are friendly and do a very good job of cleaning. Since the manager, new bartender, and housekeepers came in, the place has changed a lot for the better. I'd recommend it to everyone.

Check-in was easy and the room was fairly clean, but it was 90° inside on a hot day. The air conditioner seemed to work for about half an hour and brought the room down to 89°, then the compressor stopped. I thought it might be cycling, but after 15 minutes it still hadn't come back on. Half an hour later it was still blowing warm air, so I gave up and went to the desk. They didn't offer even a partial refund or an apology. The only response was that they'd have someone look at it. I checked out.
