Hilton Garden Inn Midland

The renovation turned out great, and we finally got a really good night's sleep. The beds were incredibly comfortable and luxurious, the hot water was working, and the a/c was quiet. Junior at the front desk greeted us warmly and quickly found these tired travelers the perfect room. Suzie got our morning off to such a lovely start. We hit the road rested and full after a yummy breakfast. Shout-out to the wonderful restaurant crew! We're back in Texas Pride territory. Thanks for all the care and attention to detail, it made a real difference.

There was no hot water for the whole two weeks I stayed, and the elevator never worked, so I hope they don't put anyone in a wheelchair on the second floor. My room was filthy and the TV wouldn't even turn on. Breakfast was awful too, and I found a hair in my food. I saw what looked like serious health code violations during the hour I was eating. The staff were rude and lazy, and the service was just as bad as the food. The front desk employee Ashley was especially rude to me and my handicapped partner. She made inappropriate remarks about my partner's physical difference, and we could still hear her afterward. I'm filing a formal discrimination complaint and contacting corporate. It's totally unacceptable to make someone feel worse about something they can't control. Hilton should be embarrassed to put its name on this place. The manager clearly can't manage the hotel, and I give it a year before they sell to a better company. Marriott is a name people associate with quality and luxury, unlike this decorated Motel 6. We will never stay here again. How is this place even allowed to stay open?

The employees were nice and helpful, and this isn't their fault. The problem is the lack of oversight from Hilton's upper management and the local owners. Midland has a reputation for overpriced, understaffed, run-down hotels, but this place might win the title of worst Hilton experience. As a lifetime Diamond member, I've stayed in plenty of subpar locations. Even a rough Hilton should be clean and have decent beds. Here, the mattresses feel like $40 newspaper-stuffed beds, and the springs make it impossible to rest. The cheap furniture bends and creaks whenever you shift position. Showers have leaked so long that the tile is buckled and missing. The TVs are smaller than most travel laptop screens. The carpets have clearly taken years of abuse without attention. This isn't because housekeeping doesn't clean, to be clear. I don't even want clothes that fall on the floor here. The uneven floors groan with every step and make the place feel over 100 years old. The thermostats light up but don't work, and adjusting the units themselves has mixed results, including constant heat. If you like sleeping hot on a cheap mattress that's seen more action than Trump's Twitter account, you'll be in luck. Save your money and go to the Marriott, or sleep in your truck in the SAMS parking lot. The Hilton brand in Midland is dead.

The room was dirty, the food wasn't worth what it cost, and the fruit was old. I'd rather have stayed somewhere with a decent breakfast included. The staff were unpleasant and rude the whole time. I thought the Hilton name was supposed to stand for a certain standard of quality?
