The woman who checked us in over the phone was nice, which makes me feel bad writing this, but the place needs a lot of work. The Google and Expedia photos don’t look like what we walked into. Maybe they were taken when it was new, or heavily edited. We were in cabin 35, though the 5 was missing from the sign. We later found it on the ground. The room was marked non-smoking, but smelled of smoke as soon as we entered. I’m pregnant and my husband doesn’t smoke, so that was frustrating. The lighting was poor, the walls were gross, and the door had a big gap and felt like someone could kick it in. We slept with our heavy cooler against it for a bit more protection from strangers and bugs. The bathroom was gross too, with a missing ceiling tile and a dirty shower. I couldn’t bring myself to shower in there. The wooden floor left my feet covered in black dirt when I left, and the toilet barely flushed. The bed was horrid. I know pregnancy is uncomfortable already, but it gave my husband a kink in his neck too. It was uncomfortable for anyone. I know this place is mostly for people passing through Midland, but you deserve better. The good reviews confused me. Maybe we got a rundown cabin, or other guests have lower standards, but I think mine are normal. I can be understanding, but I felt misled by the photos and reviews. You can look at my photos for reference. Take this as a warning.

Everything was positive, apart from the mattresses, which weren’t as comfortable as you’d get at a luxury hotel. It was handy to have laundry on site, and they even gave me detergent so I didn’t have to go to the store.

I spent about a month and a half here and really enjoyed it. The place is quiet and respectful, people keep to themselves, and nobody messes with your things. Everyone was friendly, and management responded to texts quickly and was very helpful. My baby girl loved our long walks along the lease road, though watch out for snakes. We’d sometimes go around the park too. If someone else was walking their dog, they’d detour to avoid a problem. It’s pet friendly. The cabins suit one person well, and some have a closet and a two-burner cooktop for longer stays. Every cabin has a full-size fridge and a pretty comfortable queen bed. I kept the window unit at 71 and slept comfortably. The only noise was the train, and it usually didn’t last long. I’d stay again and recommend it to anyone needing a furnished place short term or long term.

The cabin was just right for me, and as a woman on my own I never felt uncomfortable. It had a full-size bed, microwave, fridge, and two-burner electric cooktop. The closet came in handy for a longer stay. I kept the window unit at 71 with the fan and my pedestal fan going because I need to feel air, and slept comfortably. The bed was great. WiFi worked fine, and I often saw people using the laundry even though I didn’t use it myself. It’s quiet, apart from the train now and then. When the smoke detector started chirping on arrival, it was too high for me to reach and it was late, so I texted. He answered right away and moved me without any fuss. The hot water was so hot I could barely turn on the shower. I had no other problems. My dog enjoyed walking around the park and up and down the lease road. The sunset view is beautiful, and I enjoyed my stay. There’s a sewer smell outside, but not inside the cabin. The cabin in the photos and bad review with all the junk had been cleaned up. They were moving out and remodeling some units; it didn’t bother me, and I was right next door. I have zero complaints and would stay again in a pinch. I only moved because I wanted to be closer to town and have a real apartment with more space. It’s in the middle of nowhere, with only a liquor store nearby, so I had to get everything done before heading home.

My room was okay, but there was no TV service and the microwave didn’t work. It has almost no extras and barely the basics. The bed was so cheap and uncomfortable that sitting on its foot lifted the head off the ground. Quite a few units looked run down, with screens or curtains missing. I didn’t see bed bugs, though even they may have higher standards. There was a quarter- to half-inch gap around the door, letting sunlight in and insects through. At this trailer park, it seems like luck decides whether you get a three-star or one-star stay.
