Quality Inn Midland South

Our four days there were quiet, and the man at the desk was kind and helpful when we checked in. He apologized for both the construction and the heat in the lobby. The room itself wasn’t too bad, but I wish we’d known about the remodeling before booking: half the building’s front had been taken off, which I assume is why the lobby was so hot. Tape was still on the windows after painting, blocking the view, and room cleaning only happened once every three days.

The front desk clerk, Dakota, was very nice and helped me cancel my reservation. The hotel was under construction when I booked, but the website hadn’t been updated and they were still renting rooms. There were wires hanging from the ceiling, construction tools all over, and the rooms weren’t clean. The outside looked abandoned.

After a tiring ten hours of driving, my husband and I stayed here because we had our six-month-old puppy and the hotel accepts pets. The air conditioning worked well, and the bed was decent. The bathroom had no shower curtain, the tub drained very slowly, and the fixtures kept dripping and wouldn’t shut off all the way. They’re renovating the hotel, so I hope the rooms get updated too, because they need it.

The rooms are quite old, but ours was very clean. The location right off I-20 is excellent, and I enjoyed the breakfast. The manager was friendly and helpful, and they’re updating the rooms, so I’m looking forward to seeing the finished work. I think this could soon be the best place in town. Give it a try, it won’t disappoint.
