The laundry machines are often broken, with only one or two working, and they’re nasty. Still, they’re usable for washing oilfield clothes. I really liked having a pool and some BBQs outside where you can hang out and cook.

I cancelled the reservations I’d made for weeks after this stay. The room felt dirty because the carpet had several big stains, and housekeeping never came to clean it after I reported the problem. I emailed management the next day and got no reply. The front desk confirmed the email had arrived but said she hadn’t checked messages that morning, then offered to pass it on. Nobody ever followed up. The towels were dingy and worn, the tub finish was peeling, and the shower head looked disgusting with heavy calcium buildup. Breakfast wasn’t tasty or appealing to look at. It was tortilla and refried beans or eggs mixed with pork, which not everyone eats, and the fruit wasn’t fresh. The coffee ran out before breakfast ended.

The location was handy, with good restaurant and shopping choices nearby. The room was spacious, with a kitchenette and sofa bed, though things looked a bit dated. The hallway smelled really bad, and the outdoor hot tub jets didn’t work. It’s a place to sleep.

At 7:30 in the morning there was no water from any bathroom faucet, and by 9:30 it still hadn’t been fixed. The front desk kept giving the same vague answer that they were working on the water heater. We were in town for business meetings on a workday and didn’t have time to spare. Running water is a basic amenity, even during maintenance. Breakfast, which was supposed to be included, was nearly nonexistent at 7:30. There was a toaster but no bread, and the flasks were there but no coffee. Poor planning and service for a hotel aimed at business travelers.
