Wintergreen Condominiums

The setting is gorgeous for hiking and biking, with lovely views just a short walk, ride, or drive away. My husband, his family, and I spent a week here, and it was a decent stay. I really liked the relaxing hot tub, although the pool was a little cold, so expect that in the off-season. Parking seemed plentiful to me, even though they say a third car per unit is allowed only if a spot is available on a first-come basis. Two cars are allowed per unit. Towel supplies were a frustration. A room set up for four or six people gets one towel per person, and asking for an extra probably won't help. Pool and hot tub towels can't be taken back to the room, so in colder weather you'll need your own towel or dry clothes if you don't want to walk back wet. The office always had hot chocolate, which was a nice treat. By the gym there are a few games, including shuffleboard, air hockey, and foosball. Bring oven mitts if you're baking, and consider packing extra toilet paper since there's just one roll per bathroom. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand lotion are provided. There are some kitchen supplies for cooking, but not everything you may need, so bring a few essentials. Each unit has its own grill, which is great for barbecuing.

The internet is the downside here. It costs $15, and when I paid for it once, the connection was poor. Still, we love staying here. I can't speak for every condo, but ours is spotless, with no dust in sight. The king bed is so comfortable, the sheets are crisp and white, and there are lots of fluffy pillow choices. Taking the trash out is easy since it's right outside the door. The pool has nice towels, and you can rent games and crafts at the front desk. We've seen deer around too.

Midway is beautiful and quaint, and staying here feels like finding a little treasure. My in-laws have had a timeshare here for almost 30 years, and we've always enjoyed the visits. There's lots of parking and plenty to do nearby, including shops, Wasatch Park, and the Memorial at the top of the hill. The rooms are a good size, with spacious living and dining areas that flow well. We especially like booking a second-level unit for the loft, which works nicely for sleeping or playing. The pool is large enough for four adults and a handful of kids, and still usable if another family joins. There's also a hot tub, workout area, and gaming area.

I'm enjoying the place so far. It's an older resort, and a few things could be more disability-friendly, but both the resort and town date back to the 1800s. Given their historic value, I wouldn't change much. The bathroom lights in room 2102 should point up, though, so the mirror isn't shadowed. I could probably fix it with a screwdriver and some time, but a licensed electrician is likely a better choice, so the work is properly backed.
