Rodeway Inn & Suites near Okoboji Lake

Take pictures of the room when you arrive, especially since they warn about $25 charges for various things. We found stains on the bedspread and photographed them. They also say they charge $25 for leaving a dirty towel, even though ours were stained already. I understand charging for makeup or grease beyond normal towel use, but that wasn’t the issue. There were two wastebaskets in our suite, yet they charge $25 if you use more than one. We brought in no food or extras that would have created more garbage. We had booked and paid online, but still waited over 30 minutes for someone to come to the front desk and finish checking us in. In our two-queen suite, there was only a quarter roll of toilet paper and no spare in the room.

The pool was dirty, very cold, and dimly lit, and the hot tub didn’t work. The so-called breakfast wasn’t really breakfast. Our room had a broken window and a smoke detector that didn’t work. The hotel and room smelled, and the pillows and bedding had a musty, unclean odor. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

This little gem was a pleasant surprise. It’s well kept, the service was amazing, and the rooms felt clean and fresh. The food was good too, and the coffee was really good.

The room smelled like weed and had dead bugs. I’d just arrived when I picked up a face towel and found a booger on it. Nobody else in my group had been using the room yet, so it seemed like the towel hadn’t been washed. It was so disgusting I nearly threw up. This place isn’t worth the money, please don’t stay here.
