Courtyard Milwaukee Airport

This was my second disappointing stay at two different Marriots in the last month. I was traveling with family for a baseball tournament, and after the second night we realized the tub seemed to be leaking into the room. The carpet around the outside of the shower and bathroom was soaked. We were also charged extra for breakfast as part of the group rate. It was the worst hotel breakfast I've had: a very meager selection of frozen waffles, frozen raisin bread, to-go cereal cups, tiny blueberry muffins, and milk. I can only imagine the raisin bread was expired, or why else would it be frozen? They only brought out juice after someone asked, while staff were discussing whether they should get some. Several teams had paid extra for breakfast, so they should've expected to feed a couple hundred people through the morning. We came in the first hour and heard from teams who arrived earlier that this was all they'd served. Marriot used to be considered a higher-end hotel. After my recent stays, I feel they're now a two-star hotel charging premium rates. Do better, Marriot. Your brand isn't what customers expect anymore.

We were coming back from Miami on the 29th of November when a snowstorm delayed and canceled flights, setting us back by two hours. I canceled at one point after we were told the flight was canceled, but then we managed to make it and called back to ask for the room again. They worked with us really well and sent an Uber at 2:30 AM. We got some sleep, and the room was comfortable and nice. Great place!

Kelly, the bartender in the courtyard, was a real highlight of my stay. Her energy, the way she engaged with people, and how much she clearly loves her job brightened my day. It's refreshing to meet someone who cares about what they do. That upbeat attitude made the whole experience better. The atmosphere and staff were wonderful, and I'd absolutely stay here again.

The refrigerator shown on the website gave the wrong impression. The one in my two-room suite was less than half the size in the pictures. Despite charging the same rate each night, they didn't provide daily housekeeping, even when I requested it. As a Gold Elite member, I got no bottled water, upgrade, or acknowledgment of the benefits. The restaurant area had no proper plates for warming food, though most Marriott properties provide microwaves in rooms. When I asked, I was given Styrofoam, which isn't safe to heat and raised health concerns for me. This Courtyard near Milwaukee Airport fell noticeably below the Marriott standards I've come to expect. Based on my stay, I'd strongly recommend avoiding it.
