SpringHill Suites Milwaukee Downtown

The free breakfast was better than we expected, and my daughter and I had a great two night stay. We were here for a volleyball tournament, and the skyway access made the location especially handy. Everything was clean and the service was great throughout. The heater made a loud noise on the first night, but I mentioned it at the front desk the next morning and it was fixed by the time we returned that day.

A heads-up for light sleepers: the walls are thin, so earplugs may come in handy. Our room was fairly quiet, but the loud neighbors below us laughed until around midnight, and we had to be up very early. Extra blankets, towels, or bedding for the pull-out are available if you ask in advance. There are some places nearby within walking distance, and pretty much everything else we needed was within ten minutes. Valet parking was easy and cost about the same as the nearby parking with in-and-out privileges. The breakfast was a highlight. They had a big range of food, kept the hot and cold items at the right temperatures, and kept the dining area clean. The staff there were friendly and attentive. The front desk staff were personable and helpful too, and the rooms were comfortable. It’s a great downtown location, connected to the Baird Convention Center.

The room and walls could use some work: lighting was dim, colors were drab, towels were thin, and the walls let in noise from neighbors. The mini fridge, TV, and heater all stopped working at different times, with the heater quitting twice. I also wished there were a mirror over the desk for another place to get ready. The lobby is small, and people were sleeping in the skyway at night. If you want somewhere comfortable to sit for a while, go to the Hyatt Regency. Still, we had a large, reasonably clean room, a decent bed and pillows, and good bathroom lighting for makeup. The skyway connects to Baird. The HVAC guy was helpful before 5 p.m., and Parker helped settle the noisy neighbors and put together lovely Christmas decorations near the elevators. Canary Coffee nearby has great coffee.

The hotel’s close to everything, with lots of places within walking distance. The valet team was top notch, especially Brad, who was a pleasure to work with and really professional and helpful.
