Best Western Club House Inn & Suites

Breakfast was outstanding. Our room was clean and nice enough, though the mud tracked in by other guests and the trash they left in the parking lot made the place less appealing. I pulled a beer can out of a bush and threw it away. I know that mess wasn't the hotel's fault, but I prefer things a little cleaner.

It was somewhere to sleep, but not a pleasant stay. The shower wasn't cleaned well, the grout looked moldy, the water never got hot enough, and the shower head was rusty. The towels had nasty stains, so thankfully we had our unused pool towels from home. Breakfast was completely cold, even though we got there about 15 minutes after it was put out.

The pool is nice, and the grill area has a gazebo with good patio tables and chairs. My coworkers and I keep choosing this location because it's convenient to town and is usually quiet. Rooms are clean and the beds comfortable, like a typical Best Western. The Wi-Fi is so bad they may as well not offer it, and laundry costs $3 per washer load and another $3 for the dryer. The back door won't open with a key card, so if you use it, remember to prop it open with the provided brick.

I used to think Best Western was the premier place to stay, but the last few I've tried have been subpar, and Mineral Wells, Texas was the worst. Everything felt outdated, and the room smelled musty and dirty. Breakfast was poor, with little choice and rubbery, overcooked eggs. It was just a place to rest my head for one night, and I wouldn't stay for any other reason.
