Magpie Inn

We were glad to find The Magpie Inn right in the middle of Mineral Wells, and we'll plan another visit when we're back in the area. Even though we booked at the last minute, Megan and Jeremy made it feel like they'd been getting ready for us for months. They sent personal texts with the reservation and check-in details, and we arrived to a cozy room in a home decorated for Christmas. The chef-prepared breakfast exceeded expectations, and we enjoyed talking with the hosts and the other guests over the meal.

It was hard to leave after three peaceful nights at The Magpie Inn. We came to Mineral Wells for a much-needed getaway and were warmly welcomed by Jeremy, who owns the inn with his wife, Magen. Our room was ready and thoughtfully set up, and each morning's breakfast was a masterpiece, both in presentation and taste. The atmosphere, food, and warmth from the owners gave us even more than we expected. Now that we know about this treasure, we'll be back.

Magen has kept the house's early 1900s character, which reminded me of the wood-framed home where I spent part of my childhood. I found my room quiet and homey, and it's a relaxing place to stay. Breakfast was wonderful, especially Jeremy's bacon. I highly recommend this bed-and-breakfast.

The gourmet breakfast was lovely, both the food and the presentation. The husband-and-wife owners were so nice and there to help from booking through checkout. It's a wonderful historic house, and we'll definitely return. Ask about “Waldo.” JMeade
