The lobby was warm, clean, and welcoming, and the room was great. The bed was so cozy, the bathroom had fabulous pump hand soap, and the TV showed our tier and a welcome screen. There were no trash bags in the bins, probably an easy cleaning miss. My only other small room gripe was that there weren’t two night tables, so one of us had no table. We’d first booked a weekend at the Hyatt by the airport, and it was terrible. On day two we found Hotel Indigo. The price was good, the location was great, and we’ve had good luck with IHG, so we booked a key room with a city view. What a difference. My wife checked us in. She can’t remember the staff member’s name, maybe Eli, but they were so friendly, complimented her outfit, gave her a Valentine’s Day card, and offered fruit-infused water and a strawberry daiquiri sample. We didn’t try the restaurant and bar, but the sea salt caramel cookie from the lobby store was fresh and delicious. Parking was the one thing we didn’t like. Maybe we handled it wrong, but we went out for a few hours at night and had to pay twice, $27 to go out and $30 at checkout. I wish they had a deal with the garage for one nightly fee whether guests come and go.

The connected Star Bar & Bistro was cute, and both the cocktails and staff were great. The hotel itself is in a historic building that’s been nicely renovated, with a fun theme that felt as modern as other Hotel Indigo locations I’ve stayed at. It’s also connected to the Minneapolis skyway. The staff were delightful throughout the stay. I was glad to see the connected garage staff being so vigilant about safety and security, too. Looking forward to coming back.

We stayed here 55 years ago, back when it was the North Star. The remodeled and renamed Hotel Indigo made for a great return visit. The staff, room, and Star Bar & Bistro were all excellent. Highly recommend it for downtown Minneapolis, hard to beat.

The included breakfast was a nice bonus. We had a wonderful stay, and the front desk crew were very professional.

Breakfast was amazing, and the 50’s decor was lovely. The rooms and public areas were clean, and this might be my new favorite IHG hotel in Minneapolis. We didn’t have time to try the bar, unfortunately. A special shoutout to our waitress in the morning. After bringing our drinks, she noticed an ingredient was missing from my friend’s cocktail and brought a replacement without being asked. My friend hadn’t even noticed and was ready to drink the first one, but the second was MUCH better. Hope to come back!
