The Chambers Hotel

The location was great, and the room layout looked nice at first, but the room was in rough shape. There were paint marks, patchy bathroom repairs, and what looked like a shower leak through the wall with something growing there. The carpet by the window was wet, which was a pretty unpleasant surprise. The in-room coffee maker was badly broken too. The courtyard and rooftop were both closed, and breakfast was sparse, though at least it was free. The hotel seems like it may have been quite nice a few years ago. I'd wait for a remodel before staying. Photos attached, and excuse the mess.

The suite was clean and quiet, and the heated bathroom floor and rain shower were the highlights. Still, if I came back, I'd probably choose a regular room. Staff were friendly throughout. Breakfast was just cereal and granola bars, and a stocked minibar would've been nice. We drove and used the parking lot they recommended, which was around $15 a day. On Saturday night, though, the lot charged event rates for a show at a nearby theater.

We chose this hotel to be near the Orpheum Theater, but getting there with my daughter in her electric wheelchair was really difficult. The sidewalks and accessible curb entrances kept getting us stuck. I brought it up with several workers, who said snow removal wasn't their responsibility. If kind strangers hadn't helped, we'd have been stranded just feet from the entrance. We actually had to travel along the busy street to reach the Orpheum. The room was nice, but the vents made constant noise. It was very cold, and the sidewalks weren't wheelchair-friendly at all. For what the stay cost, the staff weren't very helpful or accommodating. I won't return.

I ended up waiting outside in the cold because the front desk neither buzzed me in nor acknowledged me. The representative said he was assisting someone else, though he could have pressed the button, made eye contact, and let me know he'd be with me shortly. He also couldn't find my existing reservation, made a second one, and charged me twice. When I pointed that out, I was told the night audit would sort it out. Better customer service and training on checking bookings could have avoided all of this.
