That bed was VERY comfortable, and at check-in the front desk person kindly moved my friend and me into a room with two beds for free, even though we hadn’t asked. I was in town for a funeral and had a migraine plus lingering airsickness, so I put up with the room instead of asking to move. The little things made the poor cleaning obvious: the fitted sheet didn’t fit, the main ceiling light was out, and my keycard took a while to work while the handle felt loose. In the bathroom there were lots of short black hairs, splash marks on the wall, mold in the shower corner and on the curtain, and paint splatters around. When I told housekeeping about the hairs the next day, they came with a roller and removed them, but didn’t disinfect. The room was noisy too. I was by the stairwell on a middle floor, and heard constant footsteps and kids running up and down until 2 a.m. the second night, then again from 6 a.m. Breakfast was another bad experience. I went down at 9:45 the first morning, when most of the food was already put away and the waffle maker was off. The morning desk woman was sweeping and didn’t speak to me or mention when breakfast ended. I tried chatting about the weather, but she had earbuds in. With my migraine, it took me a few tries to make a waffle, so I may have gone past the breakfast cutoff. While it was still cooking, she walked into the kitchen with a cigarette pack and a cigarette in hand, turned off the lights, and went outside to smoke. She could at least have told me breakfast was ending. The hotel gave me a comfortable place to lie down while I got through my migraine. I won’t stay again, and neither will a group of senior ladies who were checking out while I went to breakfast.
