Brooks Street Motor Inn

A good place to stop if you’re driving through: it’s quiet, clean, and comfortable for resting and washing up. Restaurants and grocery stores are nearby, and downtown is about a 10 minute drive away and well worth a visit.

There’s no coffee maker in the room, which is a must for me, but the lobby has coffee and tea. I used the room’s microwave with some instant coffee I bought and a disposable cup from downstairs. The room itself was clean and quiet enough for good sleep despite being on a busy street. Also, the bottle opener mounted on the bathroom counter edge is a fun little touch. We’ll stay here again!

Room 310 was disgusting. There were stains all over the carpet and it felt sticky, so we kept our shoes on except when we went to sleep. The bed blankets were stained with brown and red liquid. Check-in was easy, but if we hadn’t arrived so late, we would have looked for somewhere else. I’m sharing this to give other travelers a heads-up, not to be mean.

Our king room had water damage on the walls, a smell that came with it, and several carpet stains. I didn’t see whether a fridge was listed among the amenities, but there wasn’t one in our room. We packed back up right away and found somewhere else to stay. The front desk employee understood and said we could seek a refund through our booking service, which we plan to do. Please see the attached photo for some of the problems. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this except as the cheapest option.
