We planned to visit the coast for just a day, then decided to splurge on a hotel. So glad we did. Everything was great, from the beautiful view for the price to our clean room. We arrived around 11 pm and the staff were still very friendly. They let us use the pool and hot tub after checkout, and we did. There’s also a sauna and lounge chairs for sitting in the sun. We asked to pay for a second Duraflame log, but they gave it to us for free. They also let us check out an hour late at no extra cost. The kitchenette came with so much: a Keurig coffee machine, toaster, silverware, utensils, plenty of towels and washcloths, plus extra pillows and blankets. We’ll 1000% be back, and I can’t recommend the hotel enough. The gift shop was missing, though I didn’t mind much since we found one nearby. I did think it was odd that the ice machine room closes after a certain time, so I couldn’t have ice in my drink until 9 am. No big deal, but next time I might bring a bigger cooler with extra ice.

We celebrated our 19th anniversary here, and the whole evening was perfect. Sam, our waiter, was upbeat, friendly, and attentive. They were short one staff member, but service stayed quick and seamless. One of the best dining experiences we’ve had, and we’ll absolutely return. A great spot for an anniversary. (Not rating rooms, since we ate here and didn’t stay at the resort.)

We weren’t sure what to expect after reading mixed reviews, but the stay turned out to be delightful. Room 101 was spacious and comfortable, and our dog loved it. There was even a designated dog washing area. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Be sure to book ahead because reservations are mandatory for the restaurant. The food was exceptional, and the drinks were impressive too. It’s a dining experience worth having, though it does cost a bit more.

The restaurant attached to the hotel was 10/10. We both ordered sockeye salmon, the best we’ve ever had. We stayed one night in a good ocean view room with proper amenities. The stairs down to the beach were great for walking the dog, fishing for surf perch, or digging for clams. We’ll return and definitely recommend it.

I spent four nights at Ocean Crest Resort, staying in the cabin and walking a different beach each day. December was windy, so I came prepared for the weather. I also really enjoyed the spa and hot tub, which were warm and quiet with no other guests around. A lovely place on the Pacific Ocean. Keep expectations realistic for somewhere this remote, and enjoy what Nature provides.
