Motel 6 Modesto CA

The customer service has been awful, and I still haven't received a refund for being charged twice for the same night. I booked through Booking.com, but their systems were down, so the hotel had me pay directly with a different card. I've sent invoices showing both payments, and I was told the proof was valid and the refund would arrive in 9-15 business days. That was promised on 9/13, and it was 11/1 when I wrote this. I called again and spent an hour and a half explaining everything, only for the call to get dropped after the staff member confirmed she could see the valid evidence. I've been calling for months, and both the hotel and Booking.com keep giving me the runaround. They have the proof and the hotel has both payments, but nobody will release the refund. The greed is sickening. This happened way back on March 30, 2025. Don't stay here.

Monique has made a big difference as manager, and Sylvia is so nice. Pablo keeps an eye on the rooms and handles people hanging around who shouldn't be there. Bobbie has been especially good to me and my wife, always taking care of things when something comes up. Thanks for a great stay :)

The place needs a remodel and updated fixtures before I'd consider coming back. Our keys had to be redone every day, and we only got room service on one day. The fridge in the room didn't work, even though we'd been told there weren't any fridges or microwaves. The people talking all night kept us awake, though things were quiet in the daytime. Inside, the floors were dirty enough to turn our feet black, the bedding had stains and burns, and we found mold in the bathroom and cockroaches. The towels were tiny, seemed dirty, and looked really old. People also didn't pick up after their dogs. I'm glad to be back in a clean house, and I wouldn't recommend this place to friends or family. The location isn't bad, but the whole week cost less than one night elsewhere, which seemed odd.

Bobbie has been the best to us. When someone once threatened us with a gun, she followed all the security measures, and she always checks that we have what we need. My husband and I have stayed here for quite a while while looking for a home and waiting for the place to be remodeled. The whole staff has been kind, and nobody ever bothers me. I'd definitely come back if I needed a hotel again.
