Stoney Creek Hotel Quad Cities - Moline

The staff were wonderful, but the property needs a major overhaul. The lobby is beautiful, so it could be a great place, yet the pool area badly needs cleaning and updating. The water and hot tub had some things floating in them, including dead leaves, though the main mess was around the pool. There was mold and rotting wood, peeling paint on the walls and ceiling, and strange piles of rotten food near the hot tub. A vent had fallen from the ceiling by an outdoor exit and brought down a lot of debris, which looked like nobody had tried to clean up. The pool room bathroom was out of order, a real inconvenience with kids. Our room was very large and spacious, but it had water damage and cleanliness problems too. It needed a proper deep clean.

Good value, with plenty of parking and a quiet location near highway access and area restaurants. The rooms were warm and comfortable, and the TVs and internet were nice. The hotel was clean. Breakfast was alright.

The hotel was fully booked, and we did have an issue with the hot water. When I checked the invoice, though, they'd already taken $40 off for that. They also offered treats for our service dog puppy, and everyone was so friendly that we'll return in six months. My husband and I booked a suite for my 30th birthday and had let the hotel know we'd be bringing our service dog. When staff saw our SD, they checked that he was one, then told us they'd been expecting us and already had our cards ready. We were in our room in under 10 minutes, even though someone had to step away to show other guests to their rooms.

The room's lamp was broken and had just been turned to hide the damaged part. The AC control cover was broken too. The tub drained VERY slowly, and there was no hot water for a morning shower. The pancake maker was out of order, though breakfast had an average food selection. I wanted to play pool, but the bar closed at 10 p.m. even though it was supposed to stay open until 1 a.m. A watch party in the lounge ran until 10:30 or 11 p.m., with loud cheering I could hear on the third floor. We'd been "upgraded" to a room across from one full of rowdy teenagers who kept going in and out, yelling and stomping in the hallway. The walls were paper thin and the doors slammed shut. At check-in there were three people being helped and three more in line, so we had to wait. The manager was rude when directing people and looked unprofessional, like maintenance staff. There was a fire outside the property and staff had to knock on our door to evacuate us. Is there no fire alarm? I needed to get this posted and may edit it later.
