The Axis Moline Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The shower door hardware was my favorite detail, oddly enough. It reminded me of another era, or maybe steampunk. The hotel has a unique history and is gorgeous while still being functional. Everything was in fantastic condition, and the room was lovely without being overpriced. I arrived at night during Christmastime, and downtown was all lit up and very pretty. I'd definitely come back.

The rooms were clean and nicely furnished, with very comfortable beds, and the staff were incredibly kind and friendly. Breakfast and dinner were both amazing. The eggs were real and cooked perfectly, and the cheesy hash brown casserole was delicious. The ribeye and potatoes au-gratin were top tier too. It was a delight all around, and I'll definitely return next time I'm in the area. Highly recommended.

The check-in went great, and the gym was great too. Breakfast service fell short: I asked for water, but it didn't arrive until I asked again when my food came. It also seemed unusual that pantry items don't count toward the food and beverage credit. Parking is adjacent, but if you arrive late, you can't enter the building from the garage because the doors need a keycard.

The noise was the one real drawback, which matters when you're choosing a place to rest. The street can be loud because of the hotel's location, though rooms on the parking garage side are quiet. The hotel is attractive, a beautifully remodeled historic building close to the interstate with easy access. It also has a nice, elegant bar, a very nice restaurant, and a great breakfast buffet in the morning.
