The suite itself was great, but I’m unhappy with how the price and rewards worked out. Google showed $160 for the night when I looked, then after I joined the Wyndham hotel membership in the lobby, the online price rose to $180. At the desk I was told it was now over $200. I felt like I was being taken advantage of, but I wanted the room, so I booked it. I’d signed up because I was told about the discount and wanted the points. Two days later, the stay still isn’t showing in my account, so I haven’t received any points. I’d already discussed this with the man at the desk. The same sort of account issue happened the previous night at the Super 8. My account says that stay was canceled, even though I checked in, stayed, and left at 11:00 a.m. the next day. I don’t know what’s going on, but it all feels fishy, and I’m definitely not satisfied.

I only booked a week here because every other hotel was sold out. The rooms are decent after their recent renovations, but the breakfast was inedible and the coffee tasted nasty. They also came into my room even though I had the “do not disturb” sign on the door. I wouldn’t recommend staying unless you have no other choice.

The room was nice and updated, but the WiFi barely worked for me. I was getting maybe one or two bars, so they need to add boosters. Breakfast also felt poor for what the room cost. There isn’t even a picture of the breakfast food on the website, which says something. At least there’s a McDonald’s within walking distance.

The room was cold when we arrived. It was 20 degrees outside and the heat wasn’t on, so we had to keep our coats on while it warmed up. The place smelled like pickles, the TV was tiny and hard to watch, and the lighting and old-fashioned decor made the room feel pretty dreary. We’ll be staying in a nearby town when our son goes to college there. We’d had a last-minute emergency and couldn’t cancel within 24 hours. The front desk woman said that was the policy. I understood the rule and asked if they could make an exception, but she said no. Wyndham customer service told me the hotel could waive it, and the representative even called the desk. He said Mr Patel would call us at 11, or we should call the hotel if he didn’t. No call came. When I followed up, the woman said Mr Patel was in a meeting and that the Wyndham representative had lied. Then Roy got on the phone, said Wyndham customer service didn’t matter, and said Mr Patel wasn’t even there. We stayed anyway, and a different young woman at check-in was very nice. The customer service still needs major work. After management commented, we asked where to email a refund request and couldn’t get a clear answer about who to contact. Don’t assume there wasn’t an emergency. My husband traveled back alone to support the family situation, while my son and I stayed. The front office needs a big lesson in manners and customer service. I’ll be calling Wyndham about how the hotel is representing them. I expect someone from the hotel may reply by saying we didn’t stay or something similar, as they seem to have done with other reviews. The rudeness is a common theme, and we’ve learned our lesson.

Eddie, the concierge, was friendly and professional while we were here for a tumbling meet. The continental breakfast was delicious, too. Everything felt comfortable and spotlessly clean, from the hallways and elevators to the pool and our room.
