I had a great experience stopping atvAvid Hotel in Monona for a business meeting. The lobby was spotless and well kept, and the whole place felt comfortable and easy to navigate. A reliable spot to stay, and I’d definitely recommend it.

Antonio Williams makes a lasting impression at the Avid Hotel. Every time I’ve interacted with him, he’s been professional, consistent, positive, and genuinely attentive. He treats guests with respect and makes them feel welcome and cared for. His attention to detail and readiness to help are a big part of why I’d want to return. He sets a strong example of what hospitality can look like, and I think he should be recognized and considered for a role training and mentoring other staff. The whole organization could benefit from his experience and leadership. Avid Hotel is lucky to have him.

I travel for work often and usually stay two or three days, but I’ve never had anyone enter my room while the do not disturb sign was up. Maybe it’s allowed, maybe it isn’t, but it felt like an invasion of privacy. I had food, drinks, and belongings in the room, and I have no way to know if anything was tampered with or what was done with my things. They didn’t even make the bed. If I’d been showering, would they have just walked in? I usually stay with IHG, and this was my first time at an Avid. I probably won’t stay at one again. I’m so uneasy about it that I’m scared to use the new toothbrush I got.

The rooms are very clean, and the staff member who handles breakfast deserves a shout-out. I’ve stayed here many times, and he always keeps the area tidy, clean, and well stocked. The location’s still recommendable, though I’m disappointed by the company’s breakfast change. I preferred the old grab-and-go choices. Now there are the usual scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and fried potatoes, which are harder to take with you. The Avid in Chicago had made the same change, so it seems company-wide, even though they’re still advertising breakfast as grab-and-go. There was also some confusion about a change we’d made in advance, apparently because staff hadn’t been told. A couple of people knocked on our door hours apart, thinking we were supposed to have checked out already. Even so, I’d definitely recommend this hotel.
