Hamilton Place

The place was very clean, and they even left snacks in case we got hungry. I also really liked having TVs in the bedrooms and heated bathroom floors. They seemed to have thought of everything we might need, and we had a great stay. I'd book here again.

They canceled my reservation by email 12 days after I booked, without calling. They said a system glitch had made the rate too low and wouldn't honor the booking, even though they'd sent a confirmation number and processed my deposit. They did refund the deposit. After I posted this review, they reinstated the reservation.

The unit itself was cute and new, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and it was only a short drive to downtown Traverse City. We had a great stay apart from a few problems, and I'm hoping these were just early glitches they'll fix. We hadn't been sent an entry code, but a quick call got us the check-in information without much trouble. The cleaning was a bigger issue: there was hair on the counters and in the beds, stains on the couch, and a half-used bottle of water that our three-year-old found. There were also takeout bags left behind, dated two months before our stay. The place didn't seem to have been cleaned very well. Better cleaning would make a big difference.

The rooms are beautiful, and it's close to downtown. I'd recommend it for families or groups of friends visiting Traverse City. The outdoor fire pit and gathering area look like they'd be great for a summer meal or get-together.
